Luciano Ferreira Gungo from Angola sought refuge in Ireland has planted his roots in Monaghan.
Angolan Luciano Ferreira Gungo narrates how having the courage and self confidence to ask for help and keep learning and studying brought him to where he is now. Currently an active volunteer at the Monaghan Family Resource Centre, Cultural Champion and LINK founder, Luciano arrived in Dublin in 2009 as an asylum seeker, moved to Tralee, then to Monaghan in 2011 where he supports new communities and Irish nationals on their queries on community support services. He encourages migrants and the Irish to appreciate Angolan food and music.
