Halyna Budilova from Ukraine rediscovers her passion for writing in Longford.
Halyna Budilova moved to Longford when she and her two children fled the war in 2022. A writer and translator by profession, she spoke about the three pillars of Ukraine - education, spiritual development and protection of values, and that her home country is known for sunflowers and wheat. After months of suffering with depression she rediscovered her passion for writing and has now published six books in Ireland and wrote two beautiful songs on top of many she has published and created back in Ukraine. She encourages other Ukrainians to be open and to learn English, and to take one minute at a time when things get tough.
