Marisa Goldstone-Leavold from South Africa plants her roots in Cavan Town.
South African Marisa Goldstone-Leavold left Durban in her 40’s to look after her grandchild in Cavan Town which has become her permanent home for 21 years. From studying physiotherapy to working as a carer, Marisa narrates how growing up in a farm as a middle child, the impact of being classed as a coloured woman, and her passion for history have all made her wear different hats before going back to her true love which was doing community work.
