Spanish artist Raquel Montero Calero finds home in the creative community in Cavan.
Raquel Montero Calero described what it was like growing up in Cordoba, Spain and how she discovered the artist in her at an early age. She lived in Basque Country for a year which had the Celtic-influenced culture then came to Ireland to improve her English in 2016. She did various jobs in Mullingar then found home in the warmth of the people and the art community in Cavan where she has settled since 2019. She stepped out of the Spanish circle of friends and immersed herself into the community as a multidisciplinary artist and is now very much involved in visual and writing projects and shows in Ireland.
