Spanish singer and flamenco dancer Rebeca Sanchez Gallego shines bright in Cavan.
Healthcare worker and cultural performer Rebeca Sanchez Gallego from Seville, Spain moved to Ireland in 2015 and made Cavan her home since 2018. A healthcare worker by profession in Seville, she was determined to have a better life by learning English in a Spanish restaurant and a creche in Dublin, and a nursing home in Belturbet. Still recovering from Long Covid symptoms, she is looking forward to performing with the national symphony orchestra at the National Concert Hall in Dublin in February. Having lived in a very rainy part of northern Spain, she settled in easily with the Irish weather. She continues to sing and perform in Cavan town which she now considers her permanent home for her husband and daughter. Her advice to other migrants who want to move to Ireland is to have a clear plan and to secure good accommodation first and foremost, and everything else will follow easily.
