Two towns in the Shannonside region have secured major cash prizes in the annual.IE awards earlier this month
The Digital Town Awards were created to 'shine a light' on local community projects and everyday champions that demonstrated digital thinking and innovation for the betterment of local people, local services, and society.
Edgeworthstown won the Medium Town category for its 'Using Digital to Transform a Town' project which focused on the Co:Worx project based at the former Ulster Bank premises in the town which is due to open late this year as a digital and enterprise hub for the area.
Ballinasloe's Community Marketplace, 'Shopballinasloe.ie' also won the large town category with both areas securing prizes of €9,000.
