LISTEN: 33pc rise in visitors to Boyle park

Visitor numbers to Lough Key Forest and Activity Park in Boyle in have risen by 33 per cent this year.

A total of 82,000 used the various visitor attractions in the north Roscommon facility in 2017, up 7,000 on last year.

However, the biggest growth has been in the total number of visits to the park – with 200,000, compared 150,000 in 2016.

There has also been growth in employee numbers, with 52 people working there in 2017, rising from 39 two years ago.

Louise Fitzpatrick, the general manager, is delighted with the success, as she told Eoghan Murphy on Tuesday night's Bottom Line.
