Roscommon County Council has given planning permission for a €3-million development at Strokestown Park House.
It will include an enlarged café area and new outdoor terrace, visitor centre and lobby and events space.
The council has given the plans its approval, subject to 13 conditions, and the trust has applied to Fáilte Ireland for funding of up to €2.5 million for the development.
