The Bank of Ireland Begin Together Awards – previously known as the National Enterprise Town Awards – bring business and community groups together to support local recovery and rebuilding.
The initiative was fast-tracked to provide funding to winning towns in early October and directly assist their Covid-19 recovery.
This year three special Covid-19 response awards were also introduced.
And Granard in Co Longford, led by the Lus na Greine Family Resource Centre came runner up in one of those categories, for the best Local Community Enterprise Initiative.
The Bottom Line's Denise Canavan spoke to Eileen Finan from Lus na Greine and Ita Gray, of Bank of Ireland this week.
