Ahead of next week’s Budget 2018, the Irish Farmers’ Association has made a lengthy submission to the government with proposals that it wants introduced.

It claims farming remains a low-income sector, with average farm income of €24,000 in 2016.

The association claims that, in this environment, Budget 2018 provides an opportunity for the government to provide direct and positive support to farming enterprises.
