A landmark building in Carrick-on-Shannon has sold to a local businessman.
Gartlan’s newsagents in Bridge Street closed recently after serving the town for 80 years.
The two-storey building, which measures more than 3,000 square feet, was placed on the property market earlier this year.

Brendan Kieran, who owns a pharmacy in Main Street, is its new owner.
The businessman refused to reveal the sale price, but says the asking price was €300,000.
For Tuesday's Bottom Line, Eoghan Murphy visited Brendan in his pharmacy and first asked him why he was attracted to Gartlan’s.
