Lanesboro distillery has taken part in an innovative new European program designed to help local products reach international markets.
U label is a consumer-friendly label platform that's been launched through a collaboration between Spirits Europe, which represents spirits companies, and CEEV the voice of European wine sectors.
The platform will enable international customers of Lough Ree Distillery in Lanesboro to access information via QR code technology about the spirits products they produce.
The new program means companies will avoid the waste and cost on printing labels for multiple languages for their products, with the physical labels replaced by E labels in the consumers native language.
