A €1 million visitor centre is to be developed in Drumshanbo after Leitrim County Council gave the plans the go-ahead.
It will built at the successful Food Hub in the south Leitrim town and will create at least ten jobs and could attract 10,000 visitors a year.
The Shed Distillery’s visitor experience will include reception and exhibition areas, a new café, a botanical glasshouse and a herb garden, while a facility will also be developed for the sale of gifts.

Pat Rigney, the founder of the company, told Eoghan Murphy that he’s delighted the plans have been given the go ahead.
