Fifteen jobs could be created in Athlone in the next three years in a new brewery.

Dead Centre Brewing is seeking planning permission to change the use of a commercial premises in Custume Pier to a micro-brewery.

Westmeath County Council is due to make a decision by the end of next month.

The company was established last year by Wicklow native Liam Tutty, who lives in Athlone, and is already brewing its own beer in St Mel’s Brewing Company in Longford.

Liam told Eoghan Murphy on Tuesday's Bottom Line the plan for the business in Athlone.
