PODCAST: Work begins on Athlone micro-brewery

Construction work is about to begin on a new brewery in Athlone.

In May, Dead Centre Brewing was given planning permission to change the use of a commercial premises in Custume Pier to a micro-brewery.

By the end of 2021, it's likely to employ more than 15 people.

A commencement notice has been served to allow building work to begin in Athlone tomorrow, and it's expected to be operational in January.

Liam Tutty, the owner of Dead Centre Brewing, says it's a significant investment.
