Martin who is based in Monaghan is living with Parkinsons while Edel in Roscommon is living with MS.
They both have found benefits from using cannabis oil and say it's high time that the government did something to help people cover the exorbitant costs of accessing the treatment overseas.
It follows opposition parties accusing the Health Minister of dragging their feet on the issue which was approved two years ago with Micheal Martin citing "institutional resistance".
