Following Joe’s contention last week that unions are potentially destroying Ireland’s public sector, today the Psychiatric Nurses Association wishes to challenge suggestions that they are wielding too much power in the Irish Health System. Joe made the point during an interview with a retired nurse "Mary" who felt the time had come for her to speak out against alleged union interference within the health system. Caroline Brilly, Industrial Relations Officer for the West of Ireland spoke to Joe Finnegan after the PNA sought a right of reply to allegations of interference with recruitment and that unions could stymie development of patient care focused initiatives.
