Dementia is a syndrome in which there is deterioration in memory, thinking, behaviour and the ability to perform everyday activities.
According to the World Health Organisation around 50 million people have dementia, and there are nearly 10 million new cases every year.
A new reminiscence app has been developed to help people living with dementia, their carers and families create a digital memory book of photographs, videos and sounds.".
Professor Assumpta Ryan of ageing and health at Ulster University spoke to Kevin McGillicuddy on the JF Show about the app.
