Have you ever seen a mother struggling with a baby on her hip, her body twisted to do so, and the jerk required every so often to re-position the baby back on the hip, perhaps while trying to chase or hold on to an older sibling, wipe a runny nose, etc?
Or how about the proud new parents pushing a very expensive and empty travel system around a local supermarket, while one of them carries the crying baby, rocking and shushing in the hope of giving comfort?
Baby-wearing is the practice of carrying your baby close in a sling or carrier, while allowing the caregiver the freedom to move about and carryout different tasks.
Stephanie Sullivan, the secretary of Babywearing Ireland, discussed more on Monday's Joe Finnegan Show, along Donna Leavy and her two-year-old son, Culainn, and Jessa O’Rourke and her year-old son, Fionn.
