Last Tuesday on the Show- Joe spoke to the Mayor of Athlone Aengus O’Rourke who told him the story of how a large fridge full of expired food was deposited on the green of an Athlone Housing estate.
When communication attempts failed, Councillor O'Rourke returned the next day, loaded the fridge onto a trolley and deposited it back in the garden of the man who had reportedly dumped it.

During that interview Eugene Smith from Laragh Community Alert got in touch with the programme and he spoke to us on Thursday morning about the idea of putting car registrations on takeaway cartons to discourage dumping.
