The sister of Cavan murder victim Clodagh Hawe, Jacqueline Connolly spoke to the Joe Finnegan Show this morning in her first ever broadcast interview.
Alan Hawe murdered his wife Clodagh and three sons, Ryan, Liam and Niall in their home in Castlerahan in August of last year, before he killed himself.
His body was exhumed from the family plot in Castlerahan graveyard yesterday morning, before being cremated in Dublin.
This is the first time Jacqueline Connolly has spoken candidly on the airwaves about the tragedy her family has faced. In this extensive interview, Ms Connolly has called on the laws governing exhumations to be re-examined and for people to be mindful in their treatment of others on social media.
To date, Clodagh’s family have raised thousands of euro for domestic violence support charity Women’s Aid and are to run the Women’s Mini Marathon to raise funds to develop a refuge service in Cavan.
