Irish athletics legend Jerry Kiernan passed away suddenly on Thursday January 21st at the age of 67.
Kiernan’s career highlight was finishing ninth in the 1984 Olympic marathon in Los Angeles, before carving out a successful career as a sports broadcaster.
In this interview from 2016, Kiernan explains to Dave Hooper how he got involved in athletics, the build-up to the LA marathon and the race itself.
