It was a disappointing weekend as the Midlanders were knocked out of the Extra.ie FAI Cup following a 2-1 defeat away to UCD.
Paul Doyle opened the scoring for the hosts on 69 minutes before Dean Williams pulled one back for Town two minutes later.
Colm Whelan won the game for the students with 10 minutes of normal time left.
