Longford Rugby Club have had an epic season winning the Midlands league, finishing second in Division 1B of the Leinster Junior League and reaching the Provincial Towns Cup Semi-Final.
Bective Rangers narrowly beat them by one point in a playoff for a place in Division 1A next year, courtesy of a scored penalty with the last kick of the game.
Longford could still gain promotion to Division 1A of the Leinster Junior League as Seapoint face Clonmel in a playoff next Saturday ifor a place in the All-Ireland league. If Seapoint win-Longford will get promotion from Division 1B.
