Former All-Ireland winning manager and Longford native Eugene McGee has passed away.

The Longford man led Offaly to the 1982 All Ireland senior football title of 1982 and Leinster titles of 1980, ’81 and ’82,

Eugene McGee gave a life-time of service to football and managed the Irish International Rules team and also served as Cavan manager.

The journalist was a former managing editor of the Longford Leader newspaper and served as the chair of the Football Review Committee.
