President of the Cavan Rugby club is a unique position that Janice Poytnz holds with very few females in that particular role.
International women's day was marked at the beginning of this month. Sport Ireland focused on the role of women within sport both on and off the field.
In a wide ranging interview with Sean Mc Caffrey, Janice noted how her interest in the sport grew from helping out at training sessions with her children even though she knew little about the actual sport. She took up further volunteering opportunities within the club and in 2019 was elected president.
