Clonguish claimed a sixth ever Longford senior hurling crown following a 1-16 to 1-13 victory over Longford Slashers in the county final at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park.
A strong first-half display proved decisive as Clonguish led 1-9 to 0-3 at half-time; Stephen Gregg finding the net inside ten minutes.
Eight minutes after the restart, Clonguish were down to 14 men as Gerard Moore received a second yellow card. Slashers responded by making it a four-point game ten minutes from time.
Clonguish restored their five-point cushion in the dying stages before Slashers' David Buckley scored a goal right at the death but his side still fell short in the end.
