The dates and times for the preliminary quarter finals of the GAA championship have been confirmed. Following on from Monday's draw Monaghan will make the trip to Salthill this Saturday to meet Galway at 4pm. The Farney side claimed their first championship win with a 1-17 to 1-14 victory over Meath on Sunday past. Manager Vinny Corey acknowledged it was a good score to have put up with a number of players contributing to the scoreboard.
Elsewhere in the preliminary rounds, Tyrone take on Roscommon at 5pm in O' Neills Healy park. The Red Hand county will be favourites going into that fixture but Rossies manager Davy Burke noted that with just 12 teams remaining they are just as good as what is there
The one other fixture on Saturday will see, Mayo and Derry go head to head in Castlebar at 6:30. On Sunday Louth and Cork meet at 3pm in Paric Gratten Inniskeen.
