Anthony Cunningham has returned as the manager of St. Brigids a day after Jeorme Stack stepped away.
The former Roscommon football and Galway hurling manager returns to St. Brigids having guided the Kiltoom outfit to the Connacht championship in 2006.
A St. Brigid’s statement read: “St. Brigid’s are delighted to announce that we have appointed Anthony Cunnigham as the new senior team manager”.
“Anthony has previously guided our senior team to their first Connaught title in 2006. We would like to wish Anthony and his management team of Eoin Mooney, James Martin and Niall Kelly the best of luck for the year ahead”.
Indeed, Cunningham is the only manager to have won provincial championship in hurling and football with the Galway senior hurlers and the Roscommon senior footballers.
Previously, the 58-year-old managed Garrycastle to an All-Ireland final appearance in 2012.
Whereas, Cunningham's son, John, was part of this year's St Brigid's panel and came on as a sub midway through the second-half of Sunday's 2-10 to 1-12 defeat to Glen of Derry.
