Stephen Poacher’s side made the trip to Belfast to face an Antrim side with only a single win in this year’s Allianz League.
However, they were still aware of the challenge they faced. Leitrim led twice in the opening 10 minutes. Through points from Darren Cox and Keith Keegan.
However, it was a Marc Jordan goal on 11 minutes that turned the tide of the game.
There were two more goals before the clock hit 20 minutes. Man-of-the-match Niall Burns and Dominic McEnhill saw their efforts hit the back of the Leitrim net.
Tom Prior kept the Leitrim score ticking over but Fionn Nagle’s goal on the stroke of half time proved to be a sucker punch for Poacher’s side.
With a daunting task ahead of them, Leitrim came out swinging in the second-half and started to create more opportunities, with Paul Honeyman shining for the away side.
Substitutes Ryan McQuillan and Conhuir Johnston were responsible for most of Antrim’s second-half scores.
Riordan O’Rourke who managed to breach the Antrim defence and fire in Leitrim’s one and only goal of the day.
However, Leitrim left themselves with too much to do, and they fall to another defeat in this season’s Allianz League.
Antrim winning out 4-16 to 1-11.
