Aoife O’Rourke takes on Love Holgersson of Sweden in the semi-finals of the European Women's boxing championship on Friday evening.
The defending European champion's bout is due in the ring around 6.30pm. A victory for O'Rourke will see claim silver and advance to the European final.
There are a total of seven irish boxers fighting for silver. First between the ropes is 48kg Shannon Sweeney of Mayo. Sweeney will faces Bulgaria’s Sevda Asenova.
In bout five, Olympian and Commonwealth Games champion, 57kg Micheala Walsh meets Italy’s Irma Testa. In bout eight, World Champion Amy Broadhurst is up against Croatia’s Sara Beram.
In bout 10, former European medallist, 70kg Tina Desmond takes on Italy’s Melissa Gemini.
In the opening bout of the evening session at 4.30pm, 50kg Caitlin Fryers meets Azerbaijan’s Anakhanim Ismayilova. Bout six, at approximately 5.45pm, Olympic champion Kellie Harrington contests against Kosovo’s Donjeta Sadiku.
