Arva’s 24-game unbeaten run came to an end in the Ulster Intermediate Final in O’Neills Healy Park on Saturday night.
The Cavan side lost to Derry champions Ballinderry 1-12 to 2-8 in an entertaining encounter.
A late Darren Lawn point proved the winner, which had been rearranged from last weekend due to Storm Darragh.
Arva were hoping to be the first club to win back to back junior and intermediate titles. Arva opened the goalscoring in the 15th minute through Barry Donnelly, Arva leading 1-4 to five points at half-time.
Ballinderry levelled the game early in the second-half. However, the Cavan champions regained the upper-hand through a Conan Sheridan goal.
Ballinderry brought themselves back into the game when a Shea McCann goal levelled the game as we entered the final-quarter.
The Derry Champions went two points clear then Kevin Bouchier got two points to bring them level.
In injury-time with extra-time on the horizon excitement ramped up. Ballinderry scored, Arva levelled before Lawn struck the winner to march into the All-Ireland series.
However, Arva will be playing Cavan senior football next season.
