Awaiting starters orders for Longford marathon

This time of the year would normally see the countdown begin for the annual Longford marathon. While some sports have seen a limited return to competitive action, running and in particular marathons have not been given any guidance as to when they can commence. The midlands event has proven to be a very popular marathon, drawing in thousands of competitors over the past number of years, and providing a welcome boost not only to the community, but to the charities it supports.

Liam Fenelon who is part of the organising committee , remarked that while they have not called time on the event, should it go ahead it would very much be  curtailed
