Ballinamore Sean O’Heslins scored a dramatic one point win over St. Mary’s to make the Leitrim SFC final.
Ballinamore on their home pitch scoring a 12 points to 1-8 win over St. Mary’s and setup a county final with Mohill.
There wasn’t much between these sides throughout. The half-time score of four points each setting up a tense finale.
Three Paul Keaney points including one free and a Ben Guckian point accounting for St. Mary’s first-half scores. While two points each from Tom Prior and Paul Honeyman had Ballinamore on the scoreboard.
The sides exchanged points early in the second-half. Conor Farrell and Prior swapping scores.
Brian Keaney rattled the Ballinamore net on 37 minutes giving Mary’s a three point advantage. Tom Prior and a Honeyman free cut the lead to one point on 41 minutes.
Paul Keaney’s free making it a two point on 43 minutes. Points from play from Shane Moran and Prior had the game level with 47 minutes on the clock.
Kyle McCrann and Brian Keaney’s points had St. Mary’s two clear with 10 minutes remaining. However St. Mary’s would score again.
Paul Honeyman reduced the lead to one point and Wayne McKeon had Ballinamore level with four minutes remaining.
Cometh the hour cometh Tom Prior for Ballinamore sending over his fifth point of the game in the third minute of injury time and sealing the win.
Ballinamore winning out 0-12 to 1-8 to setup a Leitrim senior final with Mohill on home ground.
