Ballinamore Sean O’Heslin’s made it three Leitrim senior football championship wins in-a-row with a one point win over Aughawillian.
Ballinamore scoring a 2-9 to 1-11 win over their neighbours, leaving the Willies in relegation danger.
Aughawillian led seven points to six at half-time. However, the game really came to light in the second-half in brutal conditions.
Shane Moran forced home the ball on 41 minutes for the game’s first goal. Four minutes later and Ballinamore had their second goal of the day through Michael McBrien.
Ballinamore led 2-7 to eight points with 15 minutes remaining.
Barely two minutes had elapsed when Aughawillian found themselves back in it. Tom Plunkett with a wonder goal to make it a one point game.
Plunkett levelled 60 seconds later. Tom Prior swapped scores with Mark Plunkett. Alas that was it for the Willlies.

Elsewhere Leitrim Gaels had too much for Dromahair scoring a six point victory 1-10 to seven points.
The result leaves Ballinamore top of the league table with six points. Leitrim Gaels are currently third with four. Dromahair sit bottom of the table with zero points from six.
The Leitrim championship continues with four games on Saturday.
