Ballinamore Sean O’Heslins were crowned Connacht ladies intermediate football champions following a 1-10 to 1-9 victory over Eoghan Rua at Markievicz Park.
The sides traded three points each inside the opening 15 minutes. Roisin McHugh (two) and Sarah McLoughlin on target for the Leitrim champions.
Eoghan Rua subsequently found another gear. The Sligo champions landed four of the next six scores to lead 0-7 to 0-5 at half-time.
McHugh brought Ballinamore level six minutes into the second half. Leah Duffy edges Eoghan Rua back in front three minutes later.
Sinead Naughton’s 49th minute goal made it a four-point game. McHugh replied for Ballinamore within 60 seconds leaving a point between them.
McHugh levelled the game seven minutes from time. Laoise Moran followed up with the winning point one minute into stoppage time.
