Ballinamore Sean O Heslin’s reached the Connacht Gold Leitrim Senior Football Final following a 15-point win over St. Mary’s Kiltoghert at Avant Money Pairc Sean MacDiarmada today.
Dom Corrigan’s men laid the foundation for the victory in the first half having led 2-9 to 0-4 at half-time before eventually winning 3-15 to 0-9.
The opening quarter was evenly contested with Ballinamore leading 0-5 to 0-3 at the first water break before completely dominating the second quarter.
Ballinamore were 11 points at half-time after out-scoring their opponents 2-4 to a 0-1 after the restart with Mark McGrory hitting both goals in the opening half.
McGrory completed his hat-trick on 44 minutes and while Robbie Lowe replied with a point for St. Mary’s two minutes later, they were still 16 points in arrears.
The game was officially over as a contest at that stage as Ballinamore held on for a convincing victory and they’ll now play either Leitrim Gaels or Mohill in the decider.
