Billy O’Loughlin has been appointed as manager of the Longford senior football team.
Laois native O’Loughlin was ratified as the new county manager on Tuesday night and succeeds Paraic Davis as manager.
O’Loughlin was manager of Sarsfields (Kildare 2020) and Laois Under-20’s who he guided to the 2019 Leinster final. The former Arles-Killeen and St Loman’s player was selector and coach on the DIT Sigerson Cup-winning side of 2013.
In a press release O’Loughlin said he “intends to brings a fresh and dynamic approach to the intercounty setup and that he is looking forward to building on the existing talent working with emerging new prospects within the county”.
O’Loughlin has also appointed his backroom team.
Michael Hannon (Cavan – coach), Paul Brady (Cavan – performance coach), Daniel Doherty (Tyrone – S&C), Aidan Kilcoyne (Mayo – goalkeeping coach), Paul McKittrick (Dublin – Analysis) and Ian Mulligan (Stats).
Longford will be confirming two selectors to compliment this team.

Shannonside northern sound have learnt that strength and conditioning coach Daniel Doherty will be working with both the senior and under-20 teams.
