Round two of the Roscommon championship will go down as moving day.

The Roscommon championship came alive as theses rivals never gave an inch.

Strokestown’s Shane McGinley and Cathal Compton found the net in the first quarter. David Coyne and a Padraig Scott penalty saw the game at 2-3 each at half-time.

The second-half couldn’t separate the sides as they were level five times throughout. Thomas O’Rourke equalised bang on 60 minutes for a share of the spoils.

Western Gaels 2-10 Clann na nGael 4-6

Clann will be happy with the scoreline but probably not the performance.

First-half goals from David McManus, Conor Farrell and Paddy Gavin give the impression of one way fair. Indeed Clann led by five at the break.

However Western Gaels didn’t read the script. Finbar Cregg levelled the game with a goal seven minutes from time.

Fearghus Lennon fisted a goal on 60 minutes. Western Gaels pulled a point back, but must be sore after their fightback came so far, but fell so short.

Boyle 1-13 St Faithleachs 0-15
