Michael Glaveys sprung a small surprise on the opening weekend of the Roscommon SFC. St Brigid's got off to a winning start.
St Brigid's 0-19 Strokestown 1-13
St. Brigid's powered to victory over Strokestown with the score-line a good reflection on the visitors.
Brigid's led 12 points to five at half-time. The hosts extended their lead to six points on the 45th minute 16 points to 10.
Strokestown however weren't done and found the net 11 minutes from time through Diarmuid McGann. Brigid's responded well though and points from Ben O'Carroll, Shane Cunnane and Robbie Dolan sealed the victory.

Michael Glaveys got their group A championship underway with a three point victory over Elphin in Orchard Park.
Glavey’s led by two points at half-time, eight points to six. Andy Glennon 0-4 3f and points from Shane Fagan and Stephen Comer.
Elphin brought the game back to nine points a-piece before a Caoileann Fitzmaurice point and a Stuart Daly goal moved Glavey’s clear.
Glavey’s showed steel to secure the two points with the three point win, 1-10 to 10 points.
