Castlerea St. Kevin’s grabbed a place in the Connacht club intermediate final, downing Easkey in Markievicz Park.
Two goals from Adam McDermott in the first-half saw Castlerea onto a 2-6 to 0-9 victory over the Sligo champions.
The visitors lead 2-1 to 0-5 at half-time. McDermott’s goals landing in the 13th and 18th minute after Easkey had kicked four wides.
The Sligo champions were back on level terms three minutes into the second-half. Easkey bossing the game after the restart.
However, Castlerea got right back into the game, Nathan Bligh with an important score followed by points from Donie Brennan (2), Niall Connaughton and Adam McDermott moving Castlerea five points clear.
Whereas, Easkey responded with the final two points of the game, it wasn’t enough as Castlerea ran out 2-6 to 0-9 victors.
The Roscommon champions will now face either Monivea Abbey or Kilmeena in next weekend’s final.
