Roscommon need to beat Derry to have a chance of staying in division one

Cathal Heneghan is set to miss Roscommon's final league game of the season against Derry on Sunday.

Heneghan was involved with an off the ball incident with Kerry's Jason Foley in last Sunday's league encounter in Dr. Hyde Park.

The Roscommon county board are awaiting notification of the result of the CCCC investigation. However, Roscommon boss Davy Burke told he expects Heneghan to be unavailable.

“We haven’t got confirmation, but I wouldn’t expect to have Cathal for Sunday” explained Burke. “We have yet to receive confirmation, but I wouldn’t expect to have Cathal this Sunday.

The Irish times reports that the CCCC have issued a one game ban to Heneghan.

If the one game ban is accepted, then Heneghan will be available to face New York or Mayo in the Connacht semi-final on April 21.

Roscommon head to Celtic Park on Sunday needing a win to have any chance of staying in Allianz league division one. Roscommon need a victory and need Kerry to beat Galway.
