Longford athlete Cian McPhillips has been included in the Irish team for the European indoor championship.
McPhillips qualified automatically for the 800 metres in Apeldoorn, Netherlands, from March 6–9th. Whereas, McPhillips had gained the qualifying standard in Boston on February 14.
The Longford man having previously competed at the Euro indoors in Tourn, Poland in 2021.
Sharlene Mawdsley will lead the Irish team and is entered in the 400m, Women’s 4x400 and mixed 4x400m relays. Indeed, Mawdsley is joined by Olympians Sarah Healy, Sarah Lavin, Kate O'Connor, Mark English and Andrew Coscoran.

Four athletes have achieved B standard and are awaiting confirmation of qualification, which will be announced Tuesday.
