Ciaran Kilduff is to remain as Athlone Town women’s manager for the 2024 season.
Indeed, Kilduff’s side lifted the Women’s FAI Cup after beating Shelbourne on penalties in Tallaght Stadium. Indeed, the first time Athlone lifted the Women’s FAI cup.
A statement on their official X account read; “Athlone Town AFC is delighted to announce that Ciarán Kilduff will continue as the Women's Team Manager”.
“Celebrating a successful season with the FAI Women’s Cup win, Ciarán has been instrumental in the team's development. His expertise and passion for the game”.
Whereas, the former Cork City, Dundalk and Shamrock Rovers forward said; “I am thrilled to stay on as Athlone Town manager after our recent cup victory”.
“Winning the cup was a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire team. “I am excited to build on this success and continue our journey.”
Athlone Town finished fifth in the SSE Airtricty Women’s premier division, while also winning the Women’s FAI cup in 2023. Indeed, Kilduff's first season in charge of the side.
