Clann na nGael produced a remarkable second-half comeback to land the Roscommon senior ladies’ football championship.
Clann won out 3-16 to 3-7 having trailed Kilbride 2-6 to five points at half-time in Enfield. Two Niamh Shanagher goals helped Kilbride the seven point half-time lead.
Clann full-forward Caoimhe Lennon set the tone with an early second-half goal and Kara Earle’s goal saw Clann lead 2-11 to 2-6 with 15 minutes remaining.
Earle grabbed a third goal to seal victory for Clann with Aisling Hanly getting Kilbride’s third goal with three minutes remaining, but by then it was too little too late as Clann sealed the title for the first time in 24-years.
