Clann na nGael opened their Roscommon senior championship campaign with a dramatic comeback one point win over Padraig Pearses.
Clann scoring a 2-11 to 2-10 win to open their group C campaign. Ciaran Lennon and Oisin Flaherty with Clann’s goals. Whereas, Adam McGreal and Jack Nevin found the net for Padraig Pearses in either half.
Willie Hegarty was in Johnstown for Shannonside Sport.
Boyle opened their group C campaign with a 12 points to 1-7 win over St. Dominic’s.
St. Dominic’s led 1-5 to six points at half-time. Boyle’s scores coming from Cathal McKeon 0-2, Donie Smith, Cathal Feely, Niall O’Donnell and Jack Moran.
Points from Cathal McKeon and Roch Hanmore had Boyle led early in the second-half. The hosts pushed on and with points from Donie Smith 0-2 (1F), Niall O’Donnell and Davey Flanagan secured the victory.
The Roscommon senior championship continues over the weekend.
