St Brigid’s Killashee are out of the AIB Leinster Club IFC following a 6-10 to 0-7 defeat to Clara at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park.
The Longford intermediate champions trailed 2-6 to 0-4 at the break and a ruthless second half display saw Clara finish with 21 points to spare.
Killashee were already without three regular starters and their problems were compounded inside the first quarter when captain Michael Farrell and Francis Dolan were both sent off.
Killashee still led 0-3 to 0-2 at the first water break but Clara opened up a three-point lead on 19 minutes when Josh Fleming found the net.
Six minutes later, Fleming added another goal and while Edward Cullen was dismissed in first-half injury time, Clara were still eight points clear at the halfway stage.
Dylan Farrell opened Killashee’s second-half account within a minute of the restart before Ross Brady’s goal on 42 minutes saw Mark Scanlon's men move 11 points clear at the second water break.
Carl Stewart found the net with 11 minutes left before adding another goal three minutes later as Clara opened up a 20-point gap.
Dylan Farrell replied with two points for Killashee before Clara finished in style. Cormac Delaney registered their sixth goal in the dying minutes resulting in a convincing victory.
