Clare secure fifth All-Ireland title after extra-time

Clare have landed the All-Ireland senior hurling title for just the fifth time after a 3-29 to 1-34 win over Cork after extra-time.

Cork substitute Robbie O'Flynn put his last gasp effort for a point wide with the last shot of the game as Clare won out.

Aidan McCarthy, Mark Rogers and Tony Kelly scored Clare’s goals in normal time; as the banner landed their first All-Ireland title since 2013.

Cork ace Patrick Horgan held his nerve to send this afternoon’s thrilling final at Croke Park to extra time.

Having become the all-time top scorer in the hurling championship history during the first-half with his third point of the game; Horgan grabbed some more crucial scores for the Rebels in the second-half.

However, none were more important than this free in the sixth minute of injury-time to rescue a 1-27 to 3-21 draw for Pat Ryan’s men.
