Clonguish will Killoe in this year’s Longford senior football final after a dramatic victory over Dromard.
Extra-time was needed to separate the two sides with the game coming down to the final kick of the ball.
Clonguish scoring a one-point win, 1-12 to 1-11 after extra-time. A last gasp Francie McGee free sailing wide which would have forced penalty kicks.
Dromard took the lead straight form the throw-in, star man Matt Duffy sending his side one point ahead. Michael Flynn levelled the game with a free on four minutes.
Matthew Carey converted a 10th minute free to give Clonguish the lead. In a very tight contest, it was 10 further minutes before a score. Joe Hagan levelling the game with a free.
Two minutes later Clonguish regained the lead through another free this time from Matthew Carey.
Two minutes before the break, Clonguish were awarded a penalty. Carey stepped up to see his efforts save, but was on hand to turn the rebound into the net.
Dromard responded well, McEntire converting a free. Francis McGee added a point as Clonguish led 1-3 to 0-4 at half-time.
Clonguish opened the second-half scoring, four minutes after the break. Michael Flynn moved Clonguish four ahead with a 39th minute free.
Joe Hagan drew a foul and converted the resulting free three minutes later, for Dromard’s first score of the second-half. Hagan made it a two point game with another free on 45 minutes.
A minute later there was a point in it when James Martin sent the ball over the bar.
Martin blasted the ball to the net two minutes later and Dromard were ahead for just the second time in the game. Dromard leading 1-7 to 1-5 with 12 minutes remaining.
McEntire moved Dromard three points clear six minutes from time converting another free.
The Clonguish comeback arrived in the final three minutes. Michael Flynn from play and Matthew Carey free made it a one point game heading into injury time.
Carey was the man to save Clonguish converting the free he won to send the game to extra-time.
In a tense extra-time, Carey moved Clonguish ahead before Aaron Farrell equalised from play. Another Carey free gave Clonguish the lead at half-time in extra-time.
Ronan Bleakley levelled the game, shortly after the restart. However, Clonguish responded expertly with a David Barden point from play and a Carey free to make it 1-12 to 1-10.

In the end it came down to a tricky free from Francis McGee which tailed just wide as Clonguish scored a 1-12 to 1-11 victory.
Clonguish will meet Killoe Emmet Og in the Longford senior final on Sunday October 15.
