Olympian’s were to the fore at the Ballinamore road races last Friday with local lad Colin Griffin taking victory.
Two time Olympian Colin Griffin of Ballinamore AC won the Men’s' 10K in 33 02. Kinlough’s Breege Connolly competing for City of Derry won the Womens 5K In a record time of 17.16.
Connolly represented Ireland in Rio 2016 at the marathon.
Sligo AC athlete Michael Morgan won the Men’s' 5K in a record time of 15.20 while Fiona Gettings of Longford AC won the Womens' 10K in 39.07.
Morgan leaves for Providence University on an Athletics Scholarship in a few weeks. Full results available here.
